* Interview of Sophie about the book *

Do you have a sister?
Actually, I have two!
Are they like Becky Bloomwood's sister?
Not at all. Becky's sister is a complete figment of my imagination, kind of a diametric opposite to Becky. (Although maybe she has more in common with Becky than she imagined...)
So do you like shopping with your sisters?
I love it. Shopping is such a bonding experience. For my youngest sister's last birthday the three of us went shopping in Jo Malone, which is a total joy.
Was it fun coming back to Becky again?
It's been fantastic. After writing three Shopaholic books on the trot, I needed a break from her - and I thoroughly enjoyed writing Can You Keep A Secret? But Becky was always there in the back of my mind. It was wonderful to step into her shoes again and look at the world through her eyes - it's a very distinct point of view! Plus it was such a treat coming back to all the other characters. I just adore writing Becky's parents!
Any plans for another Shopaholic book?
At this point in time I'm keeping my options open - but I'm fairly sure I haven't finished with Becky yet!
What are you working on right now?
It's a stand-alone romantic comedy.
What's the best thing about being a writer?
Having the ideas. Feeling that spark of excitement when a plot idea hits you. And then working it all out. Planning and plotting is my favourite occupation.
What's the worst?
Realising you've been sitting at your computer all day and all you've done is check your emails and make six cups of coffee.
Do you have to go shopping as research?
Well, as I say, it's a tough job...
Do you have an Angel bag?
I wish!! I made them up. I also made up Denny and George scarves, which was a big mistake, as I then got loads of emails asking where can you can buy one? So now I'm thinking I should go into scarf design on the side.
